FRAUD ALERT | DOMAIN SPOOFING SCAM
We have been notified of various scams impersonating BankPlus and other financial institution domains and webpages. To protect yourself and your personal information, carefully review any emails or text messages you receive before clicking any links. As a reminder, BankPlus will never send you an email, text, or call asking for your personal information or requesting you to click a link to provide online banking credentials.
Please follow these tips when reviewing emails and text messages you receive:
- Review the email account or website. Slight variations of website URLs may be used to confuse victims into thinking the website or emails are legitimate. EX. Sometimes the variation could be a simple as an added letter or number within the URL or email extension. ( www.bankplus.net vs www.bankpplus.net) (JohnDoe@bankplus.net vs JohnDoe@bankpplus.net)
- Do not download website extensions. Our website will never prompt you to download additional website extensions to access your information.
- Verify links in emails or text messages before clicking them. Verify emails or text messages are coming from a legitimate source before clicking them.
