Tips for Managing Your Account

BankPlus understands events may occur resulting in our customers’ accounts becoming overdrawn.  When this happens, we attempt to do everything we can to ensure you have access to the right products and services best suited to your financial needs. 

The best way to avoid overdraft fees is to manage your account so it does not become overdrawn. BankPlus offers the following services to help you manage your account:

 Online Banking: Access your account balance and transaction history, make transfers and pay bills
 Email Balance Alerts: Receive email alerts when your balance falls below your set amount
 BankPlus2Go: Mobile banking, including apps for iPhone and Android, offers access to your account from your mobile device
 FinanceWorks: View your complete financial picture in one place, track spending, create a budget and set spending goals
 BillPay: Schedule and pay all your bills on time, receive bills electronically and set up reminders
 Online Statements: Receive a link to your statement each month by email, quickly access past statements


BankPlus also wants to make customers aware of alternatives to our discretionary overdraft service which may cost less than the overdraft fee.  These options are outlined below: 

 Automatic transfers from an existing savings, money market or other checking account 

  • No transfer fee is charged when funds are used to cover an overdraft 
  • Savings and money market accounts have a transaction limitation of 6 automatic transfers per month or statement cycle 

 Overdraft line of credit 

  • Subject to credit approval 
  • Certain fees apply – please contact us for more details 

 EquityPlus  

  • Your primary or secondary home serves as collateral on a line of credit that can be used for overdraft protection 

 The CreditPlus Program  

  • A low-interest, short-term $500 or $1,000 loan 
  • A savings account is established to secure half the loan amount 
  • Participants are required to complete a financial literacy class
